What’s your background?
15+ years as Co-founder & President of Karma Tequila (www.karmatequila.com) with distribution in 30 US markets, distributed mainly by SGWS & RNDC. Currently consulting for other tequila brands for the last 2 + years.
Consulting Fees?
After having a conversation to identify objectives based on where you are in the process, discuss a flat fee to outline goals, then if you decide to move forward, a retainer or hourly fee that works with your budget.
Should we self distribute?
In the beginning, that’s where most brands start. Even securing a meeting with a large distributor is beyond challenging. They’re going to want to see a good customer list before entertaining a meeting unless you have an “in” with management. If you do self distribute, find a small distributor that is responsible for delivering, covers 100% of any bad debt & does the invoicing.
